There are thousands of different groups on LinkedIn that you can be a part of.  All you have to have is a topic or area of interest that you want to follow, discuss or share your expertise about.  A great way to see what groups you want to be a part of is to look at your connections, your prospects, your customers profiles and see which ones they are in and join those.  As we say, fish where the fish are.

Transform Your LinkedIn Profile With Applications

Account & Settings – This is in the upper right hand corner of the webpage – This is where you can set your profile, personal & privacy settings.  One note about your privacy settings.  I would keep it as public as you can so you can be found.  The minimum I suggest is at least showing everything to your network.  Your first degree contacts can view your contacts, your email etc.  More info because you let them in.  You still want to allow 2nd & 3rd degree contacts and those in groups to be able to view your full profile minus the viewing of connections.
